| Caring For Your Wig
Before you begin washing your wig there we recommend the following steps:
1. Gently comb your unit with a brush or a wide tooth-detangling comb freeing it of any tangles it may have. Make sure you start from the ends/tip of the hair and work your way up. Starting at the top or the middle can damage the unit or even cause shedding.
2. Fill the sink or basin with warm water and shampoo. Make sure to use luke-warm/cool water.
3. Use a shampoo suitable for your wig and texture. We recommend salon products. Some products you use in your natural hair may not be suitable for wigs. Distribute the shampoo evenly with a wide tooth comb. Remember to comb from the ends to the root. Never start from the top or the middle.
4. Rinse thoroughly with the wig still attached to the Styrofoam /mannequin head with Luke warm/cool water.
5. Apply a suitable conditioner in the same manner as you did with the shampoo. We recommend salon products. Some products you use in your natural hair may not be suitable. Comb through using a wide tooth come, start at the ends and work your way up. Let the conditioner sit for a couple of minutes. Rinse, making sure that all of the conditioner is out. If not, it may cause build up.
6. Once all the conditioner is rinsed out. Towel-blot in a patting motion or remove your wig from the head and gently squeeze any excess water out. At this time you can apply a leave in conditioner or a setting lotion of your choice. We recommend salon products. Some products you use in your natural hair may not be suitable. It is best to let your wig air dry for longevity, but if needed blow-dry on a low setting.
7. To minimize shedding, after the unit is completely dry, turn your wig inside out place it on the Styrofoam/ mannequin head and apply a knot sealer. Try not to use too much, it may penetrate into the hair. Mist one or two coats to create a long lasting invisible seal.
